Our Work

CORP In Action

California contributes $92 billion in consumer spending on outdoor recreation each year, making it the state with the largest contribution to the outdoor industry’s national impact of $887 billion on the U.S. economy.

And it’s easy to understand why Californians and visitors to the Golden State love getting outside. From the highest peaks of the Sierra to the white sand beaches of the California coast, to everywhere in between, this state offers nearly every outdoor sport imaginable. Pair that with a thriving economy, liveable communities, and a large talent pool that includes everyone from mountain guides to CEOs in Silicon Valley, and it’s no surprise we’re the highest grossing state in the country when it comes to our outdoor recreation economy.

But in order to ensure that California’s active industries continue to thrive, we need to ensure our voice is heard at a legislative level so lawmakers and policy experts understand just how important this industry is to the future of our state.

That’s why we’ve already started lobbying and making our voice heard on several initiatives, bills, and policies in California.
